Body and Forms is an interactive station that prompts people to use their body parts to create interesting and unexpected forms.

This is a project for the "Element" themed nightlife event at California Academy of Science on Nov 13, 2014. Participants (max 5 people) create an object, animal, or an abstract concept based on a single line instruction. Using a live feed camera, we captured the final arrangement and displayed the image on a public monitor at the event for people to browse through.

Software / Hardware: Bootstrap, Processing, Webcam, Wood, Fabrics

Team Members: Amie Zukowski, Catherine Lee, You-Wen Liang

HOW IT WORKS

First we provided different instructions for people to pick depend on the group size. With the instructions, people can start planning and go under the structure to complete the mission. People can't really see what they are doing, but can peek the screen to roughly see the view from above. Once they are ready, we captured the moment and shared it on the screen. People can check out their works, and also guess what other people were doing. All the photos we took are shared instantly on the website.
